Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), Jammu and Kashmir 2019-2020 (Date announced)
This is a scholarship scheme for students having domicile of Jammu and Kashmir. The AICTE – All India Council of Technical Education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development has released the notification for Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme. The Scholarship is introduced to build capabilities of Jammu and Kashmir Youth.
There is no exam for the scheme but selection will be made on the basis of 10th ,12th percentage and will release merit list.
BENEFITS OF PMSSS
1). Maintenance fee is paid to the student in 2 equal installments which includes hostel fee, buying books, mess charges, etc.
2). The Scholarship covers Course fees and maintenance fees.
3) Course Fee will paid directly to the Institute which includes tuition fees, university fee, exam fee, library fee, internet fee, etc.
Who can apply?
- Student who have passed 10+2 from J&K Board or CBSE affiliated School in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
- Students who are willing to study outside Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
- Student must have domiciles of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
- Students who have completed the 10+ 3 Diploma from Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Polytechnic are eligible for direct admission in the Second year of the course they want to enroll.
- The students with family income is less than INR 8 Lac per annum or below.

Selection? How to proceed for PMSSS?
1) Every student needs to provide their preference/ choices of Colleges.
2) All India Council of Technical Education – AICTE will open centers at Jammu/ Srinagar admissions in particular institute under PMSSS for verification and counselling.
3) The candidate should be present for the counseling.
4) The Absent students are not eligible for the scholarship.
5) The allotment will be made through counseling only. No Change to be allowed after counseling is over under any circumstances.
Students who are admitted through AICTE’s counseling process will get Upto Rs. 30,000/- Scholarship for General Degree Fees. Candidates who are doing Professional/Engineering/Nursing/Pharmacy/ Agri. HMCT Degree get Scholarship for Fees Upto Rs. 1.25 Lakh. And students who are admitted in Medical Degree - MBBS/BDS/ BAMS/BHMS will get benefit in Fees upto Rs. 3 Lakh.
There are lots of student in the state especially in ladakh region who left own dream in the midway due to financial problems and they are not aware about this scheme which is providing full financial support to the students of jammu aand kashmir to make dream come true. Every year around 5000 students from the state are selected for various programmes in accordance with their preference field both medical and engineering.
There are some people who working with his team to let them know all about the scheme through programmes within state and outside too. One of the respected person Tsering Tashi sir who is working in ISRO india who helped lots of students from ladakh last year with seminars tilltthe admission and this year he will again help the students inshallah. we need to encourage such person who beside own daily work schedule, serving the society.
